And how you used to say the stars are forever

Sun Aug 20, 2006, 8:14 AM
So I was listening to "Leaving Town" by Dexter Freebish the other night, and the chorus:

"'Cause I remember how we drank time together
And how you used to say that the stars are forever
And daydreamed about how to make your life better
By leaving town, leaving town"

made me think of all the bed-time stories my parents used to read me as a kid, and more over, the illustrations in those books.

It's all about the bombing of French towns, let me tell you. :P

Happy that you liked this as well. Squiffy of at least 60%, I hope.

Hola! I'm glad that you dig the Raven of Wisdom. :) I tried to make the story at least moderately entertaining and ~ZombieKate's drawing worked well with it.

Hope it was squiffy enough.

Glad to hear that it was squiffy enough for you. If you want the extended western characters (stuff with accents), I'd download the new version I just put up.

Anyway, what I did is write the characters all on a piece of paper with a sharpie. From there, I scanned it in Photoshop and make it just black and white. Then, I took it into Illustrator and adjusted the Live Trace feature so that it would vector the data for me to an extent. After that, I ... obtained... FontLab Studio 5, the successor to Fontographer. Then, I saved the AI from Illustrator with all the points as a 3.0 compatible file. Then I imported to a free character in the font and copy pasted each letter to a different character space. Then, I balanced them all and made sure they looked fine against each other (spacing and reducing thickness or some points' roundness). And then I saved and uploaded it. Simple, eh?
